Terms of Service

1. Who we are, and what this covers

1.1 An independent personal project

The Lorenzinoverse is an independent personal project built and operated by one individual based in Dublin, Ireland. It is not a registered company. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that individual as the operator of the services, and “you” refers to anyone using them.

You’ll find references across this site to CB as an organisation, to subsidiaries, divisions and structures. Those are part of the creative world the project documents. They do not describe a registered legal entity, and nothing in them creates one. The party you are contracting with under these terms is a private individual.

If you need to identify us formally — to make a legal claim, exercise a data protection right, or send a copyright complaint — email: lorenzinoverse@gmail.com and we’ll respond with the details required.

1.2 What these terms cover

By using any of them you accept these terms. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the services.

2. This is a project in development

This matters more than anything else here, so it’s near the top.

Everything under the CB and Lorenzinoverse names is an in-development project built by one person in their spare time. That means:

We’re saying this plainly rather than burying it. Use the services on that understanding.

3. Free to use

All of the services are currently free. There is no charge, no subscription, no advertising and nothing is sold through them.

If that ever changes, we’ll publish updated terms covering payment before any charge applies, and you’ll never be charged for something you signed up to while it was free without agreeing first.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create a CB account. If you’re under 16 you may still read the public parts of the site, but don’t sign up.

You must not create an account if you’ve previously been removed from the services.

5. CB Accounts

One CB account signs into everything in the ecosystem.

You can delete your account at any time from your settings, or by emailing us.

6. Your profile is public

CB Network profiles are public by default. Your username, display name, avatar, rank, follower count and anything you write on your profile can be seen by anyone on the internet, whether or not they have an account, and may be indexed by search engines.

Don’t put anything on your profile you wouldn’t want publicly visible.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t:

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this section, and we don’t have to explain ourselves in advance where the breach is serious.

8. Content you create

You keep ownership of everything you upload — your avatar, profile text, posts, and the data you put into the apps. We don’t claim it.

To run the service we need permission to use it in limited ways. So you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display your content, for the sole purpose of operating and improving the services. For public content, such as your profile, that licence extends to displaying it publicly, because that’s the point of a public profile.

This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where copies sit in caches or backups pending routine deletion.

You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload and that it doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights.

9. Our content

The CB and Lorenzinoverse names, logos, brand assets, the CB Kit, the dictionary, the iceberg, the written lore and the design of the sites and apps are original work and are protected by copyright. That protection exists automatically on creation and doesn’t depend on any company or registration.

You may link to the sites and share pages normally. You may not copy the brand assets, clone the sites, or present our material as your own.

10. Third-party media, and how to get something removed

Diversity Themes and parts of the Lorenzinoverse catalog information about films, series, anime, games, music and other media created by other people. Those franchises, characters, titles, images and trade marks belong to their respective owners. Nothing here claims ownership of them, implies endorsement by them, or is an official source for them. The material is presented for reference, commentary and cataloguing.

If you own rights in material on any of our services and want it removed, email lorenzinoverse@gmail.com with:

  1. What the material is and where it appears — a direct URL
  2. Proof of the right you hold
  3. Your contact details
  4. A statement that you believe the use is unauthorised

We’ll review and act on valid requests promptly. We’ll remove user-uploaded content on the same basis.

11. Freing

Freing runs entirely in your browser. There’s no account and nothing is sent to us. That has one consequence you need to understand:

Clearing your browser data deletes your Freing workspace permanently, and we cannot recover it. There’s no backup on our side because there’s no copy on our side. Use the export function for anything you want to keep.

12. Third-party services

The services rely on third-party hosting and infrastructure providers, and link out to platforms including GitHub, Discord, Twitch, Reddit and YouTube. We aren’t responsible for those services or their content, and their own terms apply when you use them.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if it’s necessary to protect the services or other users, or if we stop operating a service.

You can stop using the services at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law — do survive it.

14. No warranty

The services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties that they’ll be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any data will be preserved.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill arising from your use of the services.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory rights are not affected by anything in these terms.

The services are provided free of charge. Where liability can lawfully be capped, our total liability to you is capped at €100.

16. Changes

We may update these terms. Where a change is significant we’ll say so on the site and update the effective date at the top. Continuing to use the services after a change means you accept the updated terms.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country and may bring proceedings there.
